The officers handed over the two persons and the seized currency to the Tan Binh Districts police for further investigation.

As per the law, a passenger carrying more than US$5,000 while leaving or entering Viet Nam is required to declare it to the customs officials.

On the same day, the officials seized a package sent from China to a person living in Hoc Mon District. The package contained three 1.1-metre metal swords and 11 electronic devices which allegedly were mobile phone signal jammers.
