This statement was made by Pham Thu Hang, spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry, at a regular press briefing held on October 7 in Hanoi in reply to a reporter’s question about the Vietnamese reaction to Cambodia's withdrawal from the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Development Triangle Area (CLV-DTA).

The solidarity, friendship and trust that exists among the trio of nations serves a valuable asset for all three peoples, Hang said.

Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia enjoy many co-operation mechanisms, including the CLV Development Triangle. Each mechanism has its own value and contribution to friendly ties, as well as the development of all three countries, the spokesperson added.

Hang emphasized that over the past 25 years, collaboration in the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Development Triangle has contributed to enhancing traditional relations, as well as economic, trade, and people-to-people co-operation, thereby helping to narrow the development gap and improve the lives of people in border areas and in the three countries.

Also at the press conference, responding to reporters' questions about the Foreign Ministry's comments on recent tensions on the Korean peninsula, spokesperson Hang said, "Vietnam is concerned about the recent situation on the Korean peninsula. We hope that all parties will exercise restraint, avoid escalating tensions and persevere in dialogue, taking into account each other's interests as well as the common interests of the region and the world, contributing to maintaining peace and stability on the Korean peninsula, in the region and the wider world."
