This is the first official visit to Russia by Man in his capacity as National Assembly Chairman and also the first visit to Russia by a senior leader of the Vietnamese Party and State in 2024, following Russian President Putin’s visit to Hanoi in June 2024.

The visit is to further realize the Joint Statement on deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership, as well as directions for promoting cooperation agreed upon between Vietnamese General Secretary and President To Lam and President Vladimir Putin during their telephone call in August 2024.

The visit plays a significant role in strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Russia in general, and the close, effective cooperation between the National Assembly of and the State Duma and Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia in particular.
