Three air routes in Vietnam have been listed among the top ten busiest routes in Southeast Asia in August, according to statistics from air travel data provider OAG.

The Hanoi-HCM City route ranked first with 949,246 seats, followed by Indonesia’s Jakarta-Makassar route with 569,526 seats and the Jakarta-Bali route with 473,276 seats and the Philippine’s Cebu-Manila route with 450,053 seats.

Two other Vietnamese air routes, between Danang-HCM City and Dannang-Hanoi, stood fifth and seventh with 427,779 seats and 410,957 seats respectively.

Other air routes on the list included Indonesia’s Surabaya-Makassar, Jakarta-Medan and Jakarta-Surabaya and the Philippines’ Davao-Manila route.

Between August 30 and September 3, Vietnamese airlines will conduct 4,257 flights, up three percent from the week before and 3.5 percent from last year.

Airlines will concentrate on flights linking destinations such as Hanoi, Danang, HCM City, Vinh, Binh Dinh, Nha Trang, and Phu Quoc. Flights connecting Hanoi, Danang, and HCM City will account for the highest frequency.
