According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, Storm Krathon is forecast to hit the East Sea tomorrow, October 1.

The storm is active in the waters north of Luzon Island in the Philippines, with maximum wind speeds reaching level 15 and gusts exceeding level 17.

Typhoon Krathon would move into the northeast of the East Sea by 10 am on Tuesday before entering Taiwan.

However, the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting said it is unlikely to affect Vietnam's coastal areas or mainland.

Because of the impact of Typhoon Krathon, the northeast of the East Sea will see strong winds of levels 8-9 by early Tuesday morning. Wave heights may reach between 2 and 10 metres. Boats and vessels operating in these hazardous areas could be affected by thunderstorms, tornadoes, strong winds, and high waves.

Strong northeast winds will blow into the Gulf of Tonkin from noon on October 1 due to the influence of a cold air mass.

Meanwhile, the cold weather would hit the mainland from the morning of October 1, ranging from the northeast to northern central regions. The lowest temperatures in north localities and Thanh Hoa Province would be 11-22 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the central provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh would have temperatures of between 20 and 23 degrees Celsius.
