The soil and rocks on the hill have shown signs of shifting, damaging the residential area’s concrete road and stone embankment.

Local authorities have relocated 21 households, totaling 109 people, to safe places.

According to Ngan Trong Hiep, the chairman of the Muong Lat Town People’s Committee, the crack has emerged following recent storms. The district has considered building a resettlement area for the affected people in Na Kha.

Meanwhile, a 100-metre-long crack has also been seen at Pu Meo Mountain in the central province of Nghe An’s Que Phong District. Local authorities have evacuated four households, totaling 16 people, living under the mountain to secure locations.
