The competition is part of a larger multi-sport festival held in Quang Tri, with the first day featuring two categories for children: Junior Aqua Warriors and Kids Aqua Warriors. The Junior Aqua Warriors race began at 5.45am, followed by the Kids Aqua Warriors at 6am.

The swimming segments took place at Bao Ninh beach in Dong Hoi Ward, Quang Tri Province. In the Kids Aqua Warriors category, participants swam 150 metres and ran 1 kilometre along the shoreline.

At around 6.15am, temperatures ranged between 28 and 30 degrees Celsius, offering ideal conditions for the young athletes to compete both in the water and on land.

In the Junior Aqua Warriors event, children swam 300 metres before transitioning to a 2 kilometre run along the coast.

The beachside course at Bao Ninh featured flat terrain and tree-lined paths, offering shade and comfort. To protect participants’ health, the children’s races were scheduled early to avoid the mid-morning heat.

By around 6.30am, the first athletes began crossing the finish line.

Hoang Hai Nam, 9, from Hanoi claimed first place in the Junior Aqua Warriors boys' category. “I’m really happy to win the championship. I’ve been training six times a week, and today all that effort paid off,” Hai Nam said.

Nguyen Khue, 10, won first place in the Junior Aqua Warriors girls' event.

Nguyen Huu Bao Khang came first in the Kids Aqua Warriors boys' race.

Kim Nguyen Nguyen Thao, 8, from Hanoi, led the Kids Aqua Warriors girls' race.
