Vietnamese finswimmers sweep 31 golds at SEA Championship

Vietnam dominated the 2025 CMAS Southeast Asia Championship Finswimming Indoor in Indonesia, finishing at the top of the overall medal table with 31 gold, 22 silver, and 6 bronze medals.

Hosts Indonesia placed second with 4 gold, 11 silver, and 14 bronze medals, while Cambodia and Thailand finished third and fourth, respectively.

Several Vietnamese athletes delivered standout performances. Nguyen Thanh Loc won the men’s 50 LC Meter Apnea in 15.72 seconds, Cao Thi Duyen claimed gold in the women’s 100 LC Meter Bi Fins with 51.10 seconds, Truong Minh Quan topped the men’s 100 LC Meter Immersion at 1:12.97, and Nguyen Thi Hang captured first place in the women’s 200 LC Meter Surface with 1:28.46.

Vietnam also excelled in relay classes events, securing gold in the Mixed 4x100 LC Meter Bi Fins Relay (3:13.99), the Men’s 4x50 LC Meter Surface Relay (1:03.42), and the Women’s 4x50 LC Meter Surface Relay (1:15.08).

Vietnam has sent 45 athletes to the 2025 CMAS Southeast Asia Championship Finswimming Indoor held from November 16 to 19. The tournament is divided into two categories: one for Southeast Asian competition and another Asian youth competition for Southeast Asian athletes.

In the Asian youth competition for Southeast Asian juniors, Vietnamese finswimmers brought home 24 gold, 15 silver and 13 bronze medals, topping the medal standings.
