VFF awarded the team VND 1 billion (USD 38,000) after their 3-2 win over Thailand in the gold-medal match on December 18 at Bangkok’s Rajamangala Stadium.
Earlier in the tournament, VFF had given the team VND 600 million for reaching the semi-finals and a further VND 500 million after their win over Malaysia to secure a place in the final. In total, VFF bonuses for the team at the SEA Games have amounted to VND 2.1 billion.

Meanwhile, a sponsor of the VFF has awarded the team a combined VND 750 million, including VND 250 million given before the tournament and another VND 500 million after the final. Combined with the VFF rewards, the team has so far been granted VND 2.85 billion in bonuses.
The squad will also get additional prize money for the SEA Games gold medal under national sports regulations, which provide VND 45 million per gold medal awarded.
