The win put Vietnam in a commanding position in the race for the knockout stage under head coach Diego Giustozzi.
Vietnam made a blistering start, opening the scoring just 20 seconds after kick-off when Cong Vien converted from close range. Three minutes later, Ngoc Anh doubled the advantage with a calm finish, leaving Lebanon struggling to recover.
For the remainder of the match, Vietnam maintained a solid defensive structure, showing discipline and composure to limit Lebanon’s chances despite their efforts to push forward.
The 2-0 win earned Vietnam another crucial three points in Group B, extending their perfect start with two victories from two matches. Giustozzi’s team are now firmly on course for the quarter-finals, with qualification set to be confirmed later the same day should Thailand avoid a loss to Kuwait.
