Hanoi Football Club has decided to again lower their asking price for trading attacker Le Cong Vinh to VND4 billion (USD190,400), down from the earlier VND5 billion (USD238,000).

One year ago, the chairman of the club, Nguyen Duc Kien, signed a three-year contract to hire Cong Vinh on a contract for VND10 billion (USD476,190), but the club can no longer afford this.
Nguyen Duc Kien was arrested in August for illegal activity involving three firms he owns.
The club admitted taking a big loss for not fulfilling Cong Vinh's contract, but the club said it was necessary under the current economic situation. At the same time many other teams have been looking to reduce the number of players.
An official from Hanoi Football Club said the club may slash Cong Vinh’s pay to VND3.5 billion (USD166,600), the same as Thanh Luong, who was taken on by Hanoi T&T recently.
Cong Vinh was criticised for his poor performance at the AFF, which could reduce his leverage in signing any contract with another team.
Earlier, some news sources said that Cong Vinh refused a probation contract for a club in Indonesia. The official information about this case has not yet been released.
