Recent floods on November 7-8 destroyed a long section of coastline in the central province of Thua Thien Hue.
Seawater rose by about 7 metres along a beach in Phu Thuan Commune
Seawater rose nearly ten metres along a three-kilometre stretch of coastline the town of Thuan An and Phu Thuan Commune, Phu Vang District.
On November 9, some sections along Thuan An beach also experienced landslides.
On the same day seawater rose by about 7 metres along a 200-metre section of beach in Phu Thuan Commune, forcing 84 residents to evacuate.
Flooding and landslides were also recorded, particularly in the districts of Huong Tra, Quang Dien, Phu Loc and Nam Dong, destroying canals and dams.
