Dantri's Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Nguyen Xuan Toan, visits Hoang Thi Ngoc Duyen and her father at their new house on January 21.
The two families moved into their newly-built houses in An Thuong Village, Luc Yen District, on Tuesday.
The donation for building Hoang Thi Ngoc Duyen’s house came after an article about her great losses caused by the typhoon published in the newspaper.
The typhoon completely destroyed their home and claimed the lives of her grandmother, mother, and younger brother. Only she and her father luckily survived.

Dantri/DTiNews readers also jointly donated to build a new house for Hoang Thi Tham’s family in An Thuong Village.
The new house for Tham's family
Tham's family is classified as a low-income household in the area. Her husband suffered a stroke, and her son has a mental illness. Their stilt house was severely damaged by a landslide following the typhoon, forcing them to relocate to a safer place.
Dantri's Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Nguyen Xuan Toan, visits and give presents a gift to Hoang Thi Tham when she moves to live in her new house on January 21.
Nguyen Thi Ha, Vice Chairwoman of Minh Xuan Commune, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Dantri Newspaper and kind donors for supporting the house construction in the locality.
The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs has asked organisations and individuals to build 100 new houses for disadvantaged families nationwide between 2024 and 2025.
As a ministry publication, Dantri Newspaper has begun a campaign to build the houses with financial support from the newspaper's readers and donors. Each family will receive at least VND50 million.
As of January 22, 2025, Dantri had constructed 76 houses, 66 of which had been completed.
