Dantri's Deputy Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Xuan Toan gives Tet gifts to families of local war dead and wounded soldiers in Ha Giang Province on January 13.
At a ceremony held on January 13 at the Vi Xuyen National Martyrs' Cemetery, Dantri Newspaper presented gifts to 50 families of local war dead and wounded soldiers.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dantri's Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Nguyen Xuan Toan, highly appreciated the families' sacrifices in defending the country's independence and sent his best wishes to them for the new year.
"We'll always be thankful for your great contributions to the country's independence and freedom," Toan said. "On the occasion of the Lunar Tet New Year Festival, I want to send my best wishes to you: health, happiness, and prosperity."
At the ceremony, Le Thanh Hai, vice chairman of the Vi Xuyen District People's Committee, sincerely thanked Dantri for the meaningful presents and wishes to local families.

The official also expressed hopes to receive more support from Dantri and donors for disadvantaged households in the area.
Vi Xuyen National Martyrs' Cemetery is currently the resting place for 1,921 soldiers who died fighting at Vi Xuyen battle to defend the northern border in 1979-1989. The war also wounded more than 10,000 others.
