Ha Trong Quy, from Thanh Hoa Province, suffered burns to 56 per cent of his body and was admitted to the National Burn Hospital in critical condition after the accident.
Following an appeal published by Dantri Newspaper, readers donated VND 324.9 million, which was transferred directly to the family's bank account to help pay for treatment.

The family also received more than VND 51 million in additional donations from other benefactors, including VND 30 million from the Thien Tam Foundation, bringing total support to more than VND 375 million.
Quy's father, Ha Van Thuyen, said the donations had enabled the family to cover the cost of multiple operations, skin grafts and other medical treatment.
"Without the support from Dantri/DTiNews readers and donors, we would not have known how to pay for our son's treatment," he said.

After nearly three months in hospital and several major operations, Quy has overcome the most critical stage of his recovery and has been transferred from the intensive care unit to the paediatric ward.
Although he still faces further surgery, skin grafts and a lengthy rehabilitation programme, his recovery has given the family renewed hope.
Representatives of the National Burn Hospital thanked Dantri/DTiNews readers and donors, saying their support had eased the family's financial burden and allowed doctors to focus on treating the boy.
Quy's family also expressed gratitude to readers, donors and medical staff for helping save his life and giving him the chance to continue his recovery.
