According to doctors from Hung Yen Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, the 34-year-old woman whose name has not been discovered suffered from hysterorrhexis, causing profuse bleeding. Urgent surgery was necessary to save her as well as her baby.
The woman faces critical condition due to natural birth
After the two-hour operation, two litres of blood were lost and her uterus was also totally cut. The woman and her child will have to recover from critical condition.
Nguyen Xuan Hung, director of the hospital, said that this is a very rare case for the hospital. If not being taken to the hospital, the woman and her baby would have died.
Earlier, a young mother in Hung Yen shared some images of her six-day child born with the natural birth method with the umbilical cord still attached to her body.
The Ministry of Health have warned of the possible dangers of natural birth which can kill both mothers and children. Women should go to hospital for medical check-ups during their pregnancy and labour as well as after giving birth.
