Hoi An faces severe flooding again on November 3.
On the morning of November 3, the water level of the Hoai River rose to 2.42 metres and was expected to climb to 2.6 metres by the afternoon, inundating major thoroughfares in the old town and compelling hurried evacuations.

Thanh Ha fish market is deeply submerged on November 3.
In just one week, communities in the old quarter of Hoi An in Danang City have been struck by flooding twice, with streets such as Bach Dang, Nguyen Thai Hoc and Nguyen Phuc Chu submerged up to 1-2 metres, effectively turning the area into waterways. Beyond the central zone, Thanh Ha fish market in Hoi An Tay Ward and the former Cam Kim Commune have been cut off by floodwaters.
Boat traffic has become the primary mode of transport, allowing residents to buy essentials and evacuate tourists, the elderly and children to safer ground.

As 65-year-old resident Tran Huu Trang recounted, he made more than 10 boat trips on the morning of November 3 to ferry people from An Hoi area to drier ground. “The water rose so fast that we acted early,” he said, noting that his household faced more than 1.5 metres of flooding in the previous episode and still had items on elevated surfaces.
Shop owner Nguyen Thi Sen described the situation as exhausting: “We hadn’t finished clearing the mud from the last flood and now we are evacuating again. Flood on top of flood within seven days makes it very hard.”
The Central Regional Hydrometeorological Station has issued warnings that heavy rainfall is expected to persist in low-lying riverside and field areas of Hoi An, meaning more widespread deep flooding may occur over the next 24 hours.
