Hanoi launches inspections of E10 biofuel quality

Hanoi will inspect E10 biofuel quality across its supply chain and collect fuel samples to check compliance with national standards.f

Under a plan issued by the municipal People's Committee, inspections will assess compliance with technical standards, quality and measurement regulations covering the production, blending, storage, distribution and sale of E10 petrol.

The inspections will target fuel distributors, wholesalers, retailers and franchised petrol stations selling E10. Authorities may expand the scope to other businesses involved in storing or distributing the fuel if required.

Inspectors will review quality certification, product traceability and storage conditions, while also checking fuel pumps, measuring equipment and other devices used in petrol sales.

Fuel samples may be taken for testing based on inspection findings, suspected violations or regulatory requirements.

According to the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, the city has 453 petrol stations supplied mainly by Petrolimex Hanoi, Military Petroleum Corporation, PV OIL Hanoi and other distributors.

Hanoi consumes about 150,000 cubic metres of fuel each month, including around 110,000 cubic metres of petrol.
