Gia Lai Province has approved a VND 250 billion (approximately USD 9.5 million) investment in the first phase of the Nam Pleiku inland port, with construction scheduled to begin in December 2026.
The province's Investment Promotion Centre announced on November 2 that the project would be built in Hoi Phu Ward, covering 10 hectares with a designed capacity of 50,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) a year.
Thagri Gia Lai Agriculture Company Limited will develop the project, which is expected to become operational in December 2027.
The port will have a 50-year operating term and total investment of VND 250 billion, including VND 50 billion in investor equity and VND 200 billion in mobilised capital.
Key facilities will include about 20,000 square metres of warehouses, comprising conventional storage, cold storage and bonded warehouses, as well as 30,000 square metres of container yards and cargo handling and storage areas.
The development will also feature internal roads, parking areas, administrative offices, wastewater treatment facilities, green spaces and supporting infrastructure.
Once operational, the inland port will handle cargo reception, consolidation, storage, loading, unloading and transshipment.
The project is expected to strengthen Gia Lai's logistics infrastructure, improve cargo transportation and distribution, and support the production and business activities of local enterprises.
