Prime Minister Le Minh Hung led a delegation of senior Party and State leaders to a national ceremony honouring people who made outstanding contributions to the country's revolutionary cause, held in Hanoi on the morning of July 23.
The event brought together senior Party and State officials, representatives from ministries, government agencies and local authorities, as well as distinguished revolutionary contributors from across Vietnam. Attendees included Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Heroes of Labour during the wartime period, veteran revolutionaries, pre-August Revolution officials, relatives of fallen soldiers and historical witnesses.

Delegates heard a report on the implementation of policies supporting people who rendered meritorious service to the nation. The conference also reviewed the initial results of the 500-day national campaign to accelerate the search, recovery and identification of the remains of fallen soldiers.
The programme featured discussions with historical witnesses, decorated contributors and relatives of fallen soldiers, who shared personal accounts of sacrifice, service and the country's continuing efforts to honour those who gave their lives.
Organisers were also expected to return wartime memorabilia to the families of fallen soldiers and present gifts to outstanding representatives of people with meritorious service from all 34 provinces and centrally administered cities, as well as members of the armed forces, police, veterans' organisations and rehabilitation centres for wounded veterans.
