Construction works that illegally encroach into the sea in Vung Tau City are removed on January 8.
Some restaurants have encroached over 1,200 square metres into the sea along Tran Phu Street in Ward 5.
According to a report from the War 5 People's Committee, three men have illegally encroached into the sea when building their restaurants and cafes before 2008. Among them, Nguyen Thanh Giam encroached 941.90 square metres, Nguyen Thanh Phong 108 square metres, and Nguy Xuan Quan 112 square metres.
"There are some other facilities that have similar violations in the area and we're working with the owners to remove them soon," the committee said.
