Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai has recently approved a new proposal of Vietnam Airlines on the establishment of VietAir Joint-Stock Airline, the fourth carrier to be licensed in Vietnam.
According to a statement from the government, Deputy PM Hai asked Vietnam Airlines to cooperate with the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Ministry of Finance to finalise the proposal and submit it to the PM for consideration.
Three other licensed airlines in Vietnam include the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, private-owned VietJetAir and joint-stock Jetstar Pacific.
