Vietnam will send a 14-strong team to the 10th Pattaya Traditional Boat Race Festival - Thai Royal Cups, scheduled to take place in Chonburi province from November 17-22.
Eight squads from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam and the host country Thailand will compete in the 500m event with boats of 12 rowers.
The race is seen as an opportunity for the Vietnamese rowers to accumulate experience in preparation for the 26th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 26) in Indonesia next year.
It will also contribute to enhancing the friendship and cooperation among the rowing and canoeing associations of the regional nations and territories, as well as the development of the sport.
