On October 14, the Dong Loc People’s Committee worked with the Can Loc Forest Protection Unit and Vu Quang National Park to receive the python.

Earlier that day, at about 4 pm, Phan Cong Chien, a resident of Thuong Loc Village in Dong Loc Commune, discovered the snake while working on farmland. He notified local authorities and voluntarily handed it over.
Officials identified the animal as an Indian python (Python molurus), listed in Group IIB, which covers endangered, rare and precious forest animals requiring strict management.
The relevant agencies completed the necessary procedures to transfer the python for release into its natural habitat.
