The animal was caught on October 13 along Pham The Hien Street in Chanh Hung Ward in a joint operation involving forestry officers and local authorities.

Earlier, a video circulating on social media showed a man being chased by the monkey near the intersection of Pham The Hien and Duong Quang Dong streets.
Residents said the monkey had been roaming the neighbourhood for about three months, frequently entering residential areas, causing disturbances and sometimes attacking passers-by.
Following reports from residents, authorities organised an operation to capture the animal at midday on October 13.
The monkey was identified as a male weighing approximately seven kilogrammes.
It was transferred to a wildlife rescue facility for care and monitoring before its planned release into the wild in accordance with regulations.
