Areas at risk of heavy rain include Quang Tri Province, Hue City and the south-central coast. The downpours could cause flooding in low-lying areas, flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas.

From the evening into the night of October 13, rainfall is expected across southern Quang Tri, Danang and eastern parts of Quang Ngai, Daklak and Khanh Hoa provinces. Rainfall is forecast to reach 20-40mm in many areas, with isolated locations receiving more than 80mm.

Meteorologists warned that intense rainfall over short periods could flood urban areas and low-lying locations, while increasing the risk of flash floods in small rivers and streams and landslides on steep slopes.
