The ceremonial cannons fire a 21-gun salute at My Dinh Stadium during the National Day parade rehearsal on August 30.
The event began at 6.30 am with a torch relay and ceremonial flame lighting, followed by a flag-raising ceremony and cannon salute from My Dinh Stadium.
Nearly 16,000 participants marched in 43 formations, including 26 from the military and 17 from the public security force.
Military officers from Russia and China join the parade rehearsal in Hanoi on August 30.
The parade featured foreign contingents, military vehicles and artillery units.
After passing President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, troops and armoured vehicles continued along major streets as crowds cheered despite the drizzle.

Nearly 30 aircraft of the Vietnam People’s Air Force staged an impressive aerial display during the final rehearsal.
The official parade will take place at 6.30am on September 2 at Ba Dinh Square.
