The Association said on Thursday that nationwide activities will be called off, including the main poetry event at the Temple of Literature in Hanoi. Vietnamese Poetry Day used to take place on the 15th day of the first lunar month. This year’s event was scheduled for February 26th.
The theme this year was “The Nation and Mother.” Poets would have praised Vietnam’s triumphant history, the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and President Ho Chi Minh. There would also have been poems celebrating brave Vietnamese mothers, as well as achievements in national construction and defense.
