The growth rate marked the second-highest performance in the 2011–2025 period, trailing only the 9.44 per cent recorded in 2022.
Director Nguyen Thi Huong said the economy showed resilience amid global uncertainty and geopolitical tensions. The agro-forestry-fishery sector remained stable despite storms and floods, thanks to timely disaster response. Crop output grew 3.46 per cent, forestry 6.46 per cent, and fisheries 4.48 per cent.
Industry and construction were key growth drivers. Industrial output rose 8.55 per cent, supported by a 9.92 per cent surge in manufacturing and processing and a 9.33 per cent increase in construction.
Services expanded strongly, buoyed by rising consumption, tourism, and retail demand during national holidays. The sector grew 8.49 per cent, with wholesale and retail up 8.28 per cent, transport and warehousing 10.68 per cent, banking and insurance 7.06 per cent, and accommodation and catering 10.15 per cent.
In terms of structure, agro-forestry-fishery contributed 11.3 per cent of GDP, industry and construction 37.58 per cent, and services 42.92 per cent.
On the demand side, final consumption rose 8.07 per cent, capital formation 8.52 per cent, exports 15.51 per cent, and imports 16.75 per cent.
Huong attributed the results to government reforms, improved legal frameworks, and major resolutions on science, technology, digital transformation, and private sector development in the third quarter.
