Vietnam recorded 662 new Covid-19 cases in the last 12 hours as of 6 am on Monday, including 181 still under epidemic investigations.
According to the Ministry of Health, among the total cases, three are from abroad and 659 others are local infections, including 181 found outside quarantined and locked down areas in HCM City, Vinh Long and An Giang.
HCM City logged the highest number of locally-transmitted cases with 544, followed by Tien Giang (43), Khanh Hoa (27), Vinh Long (26), An Giang (8), Binh Phuoc (5), Phu Yen (4), Hue (1) and Nghe An (1).
As of 6 am on Monday, Vietnam had confirmed 28,551 locally-infected Covid-19 cases and 1,927 others from abroad. Since April 27, the country has reported 26,981 local infections.
Yen Bai, Quang Tri, Tuyen Quang, Son La, Ninh Binh, Thai Nguyen, Dien Bien, Hai Duong, Phu Tho, Nam Dinh, Lao Cai and Quang Ninh have gone through 14 days without detecting any new local infections.
The country has announced 119 Covid-19-relatd deaths, while 9,275 patients have been discharged from hospital
Vietnam has administered over 4.05 million Covid vaccine shots, with 277,447 people having received two doses.
