According to local authorities, Nguyen Tuan Anh from Dai Nam University and his friends began climbing on the morning of April 19 from the Rit slope at the foot of Tam Dao Mountain.

He became separated from the group amid complex forest terrain and has been unreachable since about 6 pm on the same day in Vinh Ninh Village, Dao Tru Commune.
Search efforts have been intensified, with drones deployed to support operations in difficult conditions.
“Despite darkness and challenging terrain, forces are continuing the search with urgency,” said a police officer.
Anyone with information about Nguyen Tuan Anh is urged to contact Dao Tru Commune authorities or the nearest police station. Contact numbers are Luu Xuan Nam, Vice Chairman of the commune (0982304999), and Lieutenant Colonel Phan Van Thuc, head of the commune’s military command (0984591888).
Tam Dao, about 80 kilometre from Hanoi, is a popular tourist destination known for its cool climate, scenic landscapes and frequent mist, which can also make terrain slippery and hazardous.
