Vietnam, Austria strengthen cooperation

Vietnamese Deputy PM Truong Vinh Trong received an Austrian delegation, led by Member of Vienna Cabinet and Special Representative for External Economic Affairs.

Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong received an Austrian delegation, led by Walter Nettig, Member of Vienna Cabinet and Special Representative for External Economic Affairs, during his working visit to the country on November 10.

Mr Trong expressed his gratitude for the great help of the Austrian people during Vietnam’s resistance wars for national independence and unification.

He proposed that both sides will work together on organising practical events to mark the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-Austria diplomatic ties and expressed his hope that the two countries will strengthen the exchange of goods and share experiences in the fields of medical, education, urban planning and infrastructure.

Vietnam and Austria should also promote information to help businessmen and others to understand more about the two nation’s strengths and potential to further cooperate for mutual benefits, he added.

Mr Nettig showed his optimism for the future of the cooperation between the two countries in general and Hanoi and Vienna in particular.

He also introduced the important geopolitical position of Vienna, a capital city at the heart of Europe and pledged to contribute to developing bilateral relations.
