
US President Joe Biden arrives in Hanoi on September 10.
An Air Force One plane carrying US and his entourage touched down at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi at nearly 4 o’clock in the afternoon.
The US President was accompanied by Secretary of State Antony Blinken, US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc E. Knapper, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, the President’s Special Envoy for Climate John Kerry, among others.

Biden was welcomed at the airport by head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Le Hoai Trung, Chairman of Hanoi City People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Vietnamese ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Dung, deputy minister of Foreign Affairs Ha Kim Ngoc, and many other Vietnamese officials.
President Biden’s visit to Vietnam marks a decade of the comprehensive partnership of Vietnam and the US.
Bilateral trade of the two countries has also grown impressively, from just USD451 million in 1995 to more than USD130 billion in 2022. Currently the US is one of Vietnam’s largest trading partners, while Vietnam is the US’ seven largest trading partner.
Cooperation in defense-security, education, and people-to-people exchanges has also been enhanced over the years.
The US is among top investors to Vietnam. By 2022, US investors had invested over USD 11 billion into Vietnam.
Currently, there are over 30,000 Vietnamese students studying in the US, making the fifth largest group of foreign students in the country.
