University to use emotional intelligence assessment in admissions

Part of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, will incorporate an Emotional Intelligence (EQ) assessment into the preliminary screening stage of its 2025 admissions process.

Applicants seeking admission to the Hanoi School of Business and Management (HSB) this year must pass a preliminary screening, which includes a profile review and an EQ assessment.

HSB will become the first academic institution in Vietnam to adopt EQ as a key criterion for career orientation and to evaluate candidate suitability for specific fields of study.

HSB's admission process includes three stages: preliminary application submission, EQ assessment, and final selection, in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

The EQ assessment marks a significant step in student evaluation. It aims to nurture well-rounded graduates who are not only professionally competent but also equipped with strong soft skills and ready to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
