A six-member patrol from Road Traffic Police Team 6, under the Hanoi Police Department, conducted inspections with support from undercover officers, who used radios to alert uniformed colleagues to violations in real time.

Police said that in the run-up to Tet, some transport operators had stopped or parked unlawfully near bus depots and along major roads to collect passengers, raising the risk of accidents and congestion during the holiday peak.

At about 10 am, officers detected a coach from Nghe An Province stopping illegally on Pham Van Dong Street. After being signalled to pull over, the driver was fined VND 1.5 million (USD 57) and had two points deducted from his driving licence.

Minutes later, another limousine was stopped after officers saw its door open while the vehicle was in motion.

Authorities said all enforcement actions were recorded on body cameras to ensure transparency. In addition to issuing fines, officers reminded drivers to comply strictly with road traffic safety regulations.

Major Do Manh Cuong, who led the operation, said officers were stationed at key junctions and turning points to track offending vehicles and coordinate stops.
