According to a report from local police, the tragic accident happened at 8 pm on January 1 when Ho Thi Le, 37, was driving a motorbike carrying her husband Phan Cong Truong, 47 on National Road 14H.
Le's motorbike suddenly crashed into another motorbike driven by Vu Anh Pha, 32, who was running in the opposite direction.
The intense crash left all three people on the road. Le and Pha died on the spot while Truong was badly injured and was rushed to a local hospital by local people.
The two motorbikes were heavily damaged.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
As many as 51 traffic accidents occurred on the first day of the New Year 2025, killing 28 people and injuring 35 others, according to statistics from the Ministry of Public Security.
