The incident occurred on December 7, involving the tourist boat QN-5427, owned by Tran Van Ty of Quang Yen Town, Quang Ninh.
According to Ty, at around 5 am, while he and five workers were sleeping on the boat, which was traveling near Hon Net Island in Bai Tu Long Bay, they encountered strong winds and rough seas, causing the boat to sink.
Ty and three workers were rescued immediately, while two others were left unaccounted for.
Right after being informed, local authorities promptly deployed a rescue team to search for the missing.
At around 12:30 pm on the same day, one of the two missing people was found dead.
The rescue force has continued searching the remaining missing person.
