The nation's top leaders paid tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum and offered incense at the monument of war dead on War Martyrs and Invalids Day on July 27.

The nation's top leaders paid tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum and offered incense at the monument of war dead on War Martyrs and Invalids Day on July 27.

The 74th anniversary was held at Bac Son Martyrs Monument on Bac Son Street, Hanoi.

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Vuong Dinh Hue, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien and other leaders including the deputy prime ministers, vice chairpeople of the NA and the members of the Politburo attended the ceremony.

The Day for War Martyrs and Invalids was initiated by late President Ho Chi Minh and was first called Nationwide Invalids Day. He said the war dead and wounded were people who died to protect the country and their people, and they must be remembered and helped.
