Three people died and one other was seriously injured after a car plunged off a mountain road in the northern province of Ha Giang on Thursday night.
Police investigate the accident
According to the Meo Vac District Police Department, the accident occured at 11.30 pm on November 18 when a car fell off the National Road 4C in Ma Pi Leng Village to a valley 200 metres below.
Rescue forces found three people dead and one seriously injured inside the heavily-damaged car. The dead victims have been identified as the driver Be Ngoc, 49, a woman Lau Thi, 24, and a man Nguyen Van, 25. The injured man Nguyen Ha had been sent to Dong Van General Hospital in critical condition. They are from Dong Van Town.
Police in Meo VacDistrict are investigating the cause of the accident.
Local authorities said that the road near Ma Pi Leng Village has become very slippery and visibility had been impaired over recent days due to dense mist. Drivers have been advised to drive slowly and carefully when passing this section.
