Three Chinese nationals arrested by police in Quang Ninh Province for using fake ATM cards (Source: VNA)
According to police report, the three men including Li Dang Yang, 29, from Guangdong Province; Wang Tao, 27, from Fujian Province; and Peng Yu He, 30, from Guangzhou Province, were detained for questioning upon reasonable suspicion by local border police on February 22 at Ka Long Ward in Mong Cai City.
Police found that the men were holding many counterfeit ATM cards of different banks and more than VND36 million (USD1,586).
The three men admitted that at around 3am that day they used the cards to withdraw the money at several ATM booths in Ha Long City. They then traveled to Mong Cai City to return to China.
Police is conducting further investigations into the case.
