Dinh Quang Hieu, chairman of the People’s Committee of Le Loi Commune, said the tragic incident happened at around 12.45 am.
The fire was believed to have started in the kitchen area of the home of Pan Van Lo in Pa Don Village before quickly spreading through the entire wooden stilt house.
“At the time of the fire, Lo and his wife were away working as labourers and staying at a construction site. Only their three children, aged seven, 12 and 14, were at home,” Hieu said.
After discovering the blaze, local residents rushed to help. However, the stilt house caught fire rapidly, while an electrical short circuit caused the flames to spread more violently.
Once the fire was brought under control, rescue forces found all three children had died.

Local authorities later worked with relevant agencies to examine the scene and handed the bodies over to the family for burial according to local customs.
Initial findings suggest the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit.
“The family has four children, but three of them died in this tragic incident. Authorities are continuing to investigate,” the commune leader said.
