Military Region 3 sent a delegation to visit and present gifts to soldiers, staff members, and people living and working in two islands in the central region on Thursday ahead of the 2025 Tet Lunar New Year Festival.
About 300 delegates, including representatives from agencies, organisations, and enterprises in different localities and 35 media agencies, have joined the trip to Con Co Island in Quang Tri Province and Ly Son Island in Quang Ngai Province, which is scheduled to last from January 9 to 12.

The delegation, led by Colonel Pham Dinh Thanh, will transport gifts, including traditional Tet specialities such as Chung cakes, sweets, fruits, bonsai peach and kumquat trees, and clothes, to soldiers and people on the two islands.

Different organisations and individuals prepared gifts for residents, including life jackets, lifebuoys, boat equipment, and national flags.

Speaking about the trip, Colonel Pham Dinh Thanh said that this is a meaningful activity to express love and care for soldiers and people working to defend the country's sovereignty and foster unity between people and soldiers.
"Many children have brought their paintings to send to the soldiers on the islands, and elderly people have sent their hand-made cakes," Thanh said. "These will be valuable gifts for those working far from their homes here."
