At 4 pm on Monday, the typhoon was centred at about 18.9 degrees north latitude and 119.5 degrees east longitude, around 910 kilometres to the east-northeast of the Paracel Archipelago.

As of 4 pm on Tuesday, the storm’s centre will be located at 19.0 degrees north latitude and 113.6 degrees east longitude, some 370 kilometres from the north-northeast of the Paracel Archipelago with the wind power of 100-120 kilometres per hour.

In the next 24-48 hours, the storm would move in the west-southwest direction. By 4 pm on Wednesday, it would be 130-200 kilometres from the coast of the central provinces from Thanh Hoa to Quang Binh.

Between 48-72 hours to come, the typhoon would continue moving in the west-southwest direction and then weaken into a tropical depression.

The storm would cause heavy rains for coastal areas from Haiphong City to Quang Binh Province on October 13-14. Areas from Thanh Hoa and Quang Binh would have the highest rainfall of even more than 250 mm.

Warnings of flash floods and landslides for low lying areas and riverside locations have been issued.
