
People travel on a flooded
Kajiki made landfall in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces with winds up to level 10, gusting to level 15, and heavy rains across the north central, Red River Delta and northern midland regions.
The storm destroyed 15 houses, damaged more than 8,700 homes, 63 schools and eight medical facilities, and submerged 3,600 other houses. Over 81,500 hectares of rice, 4,500 hectares of crops and 1,690 hectares of aquaculture were inundated. Nearly 2,000 livestock and poultry were killed or swept away.
Around 21,000 trees were uprooted while roads, irrigation works, power and telecom systems suffered landslides and disruptions. Power cuts affected nearly 1.6 million customers, and communication was disrupted in many areas.
