The Minsitry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) has just submitted a draft proposal on off-day adjustment for this Tet holiday to Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

Under the proposal, state employees will be off work from January 27, 2011 (Friday), and will make up the day by working on February, 4, 2012 (Saturday).

Accordingly, employees will have nine days off, from January 21 to January 29, 2012.

The adjustment would not be applicable for businesses that don’t follow fixed days-off on Saturday and Sunday.

According to the Ministry, the time adjustment will give employees some extra time for traveling and celebrations during the holiday, while giving a slight boost to the economy through extra consumption.
