Indian billionaire family plans USD5 million wedding in Nha Trang

An Indian billionaire family is planning a lavish wedding costing around VND 130 billion (USD 4.94 million) in Nha Trang, with more than 1,400 guests expected to attend.

Khanh Hoa Province's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said on August 8 that it was working with relevant agencies and businesses to facilitate the event.

Phan Quang Dai, general director of Blue Lemon Vietnam, which is working with international partners to organise the wedding, said the event was scheduled for December.

Guests will travel on charter flights directly from India to Cam Ranh International Airport and stay for four nights at a luxury resort in Nha Trang, where a series of wedding celebrations will be held.

Dai said the event was expected to be the largest Indian wedding ever held in Vietnam, surpassing previous weddings in Danang that hosted between 300 and 500 guests.

The family will also bring a team of chefs from India to prepare food for the guests.

Local authorities, including customs, immigration and police agencies, are coordinating with the organisers to facilitate the event.

India is considered a promising tourism market for Khanh Hoa, particularly in the high-spending segment, according to the provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Centre.

With its coastal scenery, tourism infrastructure and luxury resorts, Khanh Hoa is seeking to attract more high-end destination weddings from India.
