Seven Chinese people fined for illegally entering Vietnam

Police in the northern province of Quang Ninh have fined seven Chinese people who crossed the border without carrying out immigration procedures.

On August 16, the police checked apartment 801-CT2 at Green Bay apartment building in Ha Long City’s Hung Thang Ward, and discovered the Chinese people who were staying there temporarily.

They are Wang Peijian, 43; Chen Rongqin, 18; Weng Jinfu, 32; Wang Yoyong, 28; Zhou Shuangbo, 21; Wang Minfeng, 22 and Wang Guicheng, 22.

Nguyen Trung Hieu, 32, living in Bach Dang Ward, Ha Long City transported them into Vietnam.

At the police station, the Chinese said that on August 15, they hired a boat to enter Vietnam through Beilun River. After that, they were transported by Hieu’s car. Their entry is aimed to come to Ha Long City to visit Ha Long Bay.

Each of the Chinese were fined VND4 million (USD181) and requested to return home. Meanwhile, Hieu was fined VND7.5 million (USD340.9).
