Authorities in Dak Lak Province announced on May 24 that the Dak Lak Durian Festival 2026 is scheduled to take place from August 15 to September 2, 2026, across Buon Ma Thuot Ward, Krong Pak Commune, Tuy Hoa Ward, Ea Knuec Commune, Cu M’gar Commune and several major durian growing areas in the province.
The event will mark the first time Dak Lak has organised a province-level festival aimed at boosting exports, promoting tourism and expanding the international profile of local durian products.
Organisers said this year’s festival would focus on setting a series of large-scale records linked to agricultural promotion and tourism development. Highlights are expected to include a parade of 500 pickup trucks carrying durians, the largest durian tower in Vietnam, durian product auctions and a large music concert.
The festival will also showcase 101 dishes made from durian, creating a culinary space designed to reflect the region’s local identity.
Beyond agricultural exhibitions and product promotion, the 2026 festival has been designed to combine farming, tourism and digital commerce. Activities will include guided tours of durian orchards, on-site durian auctions, photography spaces and livestream sales programmes broadcast directly from growing areas with the participation of domestic and international KOLs and KOCs.
Organisers expect the event to attract around 300,000 visitors, helping stimulate tourism, services and agricultural consumption in the province. The nearly three-week programme is also expected to encourage longer visitor stays and strengthen the image of Dak Lak as a leading durian producing region.
The Dak Lak Durian Festival has been held every two years since 2022.
