Pham Van Dong Road saw serious congestion during Thursday morning rush hour.

The traffic jam started at 7 am and lasted over three hours on the lane which leads to the city centre and Tan Son Nhat Airport.

Thousands of vehicles came to a standstill because of the severity of the congestion while on their way to work and school.

Police officers were sent to the road to direct the traffic.


Many motorbike drivers tried to escape the crowds by driving on the sidewalks.


Lots of people were late for work and school after being held up on the congested road for more than an hour.

A woman tried to call a taxi to go to Tan Son Nhat Airport.
