In Nghe An Province the storm flooded most of the schools in Hoang Mai Commune, such as Quynh Di Nursery School and Quynh Vinh Primary School.

The flood came so suddenly that the schools were unable to react in time. Bui Huy Luu, headmaster of Hoang Mai High School said, "The highest flood level was 2.5 meters. Our printers and computers are destroyed but our heaviest damage is to documents and school reports. We are carrying out  damage control in order to resume operation."

Many tables and chairs can't be used anymore

Both Quynh Di Nursery School and Quynh Di Primary School are calling for help from parents and teachers to repair the schools. Van Huy Tien, head of Quynh Di Primary School said, "The school is already poor and now the storm has swept everything away. I just feel bad for my students who won't be able to study in the best environment."

Currently, thousands of students in the central region are cleaning up their schools instead of attending class.
